Press release: Association of Taxation Technicians appointed to EU VAT Forum
The European Commission’s Director-General for Taxation and Customs Union has announced the appointment of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) as a member of the EU VAT Forum for a three year period starting in October 2015.
The Forum’s objective is to enable business representatives and tax authorities to work together to create conditions for a smoother functioning of the VAT system in the EU, reducing costs and administrative burden on both sides. There are just fifteen representative business bodies on the Forum and they are drawn from across the whole of the EU.
President of the ATT, Michael Steed said:
“I am delighted that the ATT has been appointed to the EU VAT Forum. Our strap line is ‘Practical Tax People’ and we all understand that VAT is one of the most important everyday considerations for businesses. We are keen to help make the VAT system work as smoothly as possible with the least burden on business. This is vitally important, particularly in the context of the increasing amount of business conducted across national borders.”
