Revenue Scotland launch Enhanced Support service
Revenue Scotland have launched an Enhanced Support service specifically designed to help individuals who, due to their health or personal circumstances, may need help when interacting with Revenue Scotland.
The ATT has worked with Revenue Scotland to help develop the Enhanced Support policy, which is available for the devolved taxes (currently Land and Buildings Transaction Tax and Landfill Tax).
The service aims to provide additional support to taxpayers where required, for instance due to language barriers, ill health or life events such as caring responsibilities. The measures include minimising the number of Revenue Scotland staff who taxpayers need to interact with and allowing more time to respond to Revenue Scotland communications. Individuals can request enhanced support measures, but Revenue Scotland staff will also be trained to help identify where someone may benefit from the additional help available.
