Whilst National Careers Week (3-8 March) may be over for another year, the importance to employers of attracting, developing and retaining talent never ends.
When it comes to building your firm’s tax expertise, the ATT offers a number of options in addition to our ‘main’ ATT qualification, including Foundation Level Qualifications and a Level 4 Apprenticeship.
We also offer a range of resources to support careers in tax at all stages, from encouraging newcomers into the profession, to supporting employees throughout their careers in tax and helping employers develop their teams’ tax expertise.
New to tax?
Our Step into tax campaign aims to get students and young people thinking about careers in tax, and can help encourage those in the early stages of their careers to take the next step by studying for a tax qualification.
The campaign resources include details of the possible tax qualification and routes available, FAQs, and video testimonials from a range of members on how the ATT qualification has helped them so far in their careers.
Switching career?
The Next step campaign offers resources to people already working in finance, but considering specialising in tax. The qualifications available are covered, along with video testimonials on how getting ATT qualified can boost your career.
Employer resources
Our Step up in tax campaign provides an employer perspective on how investing in an ATT qualification and employing ATT qualified staff can benefit your firm, as well as explaining the qualification routes available.
Developing within tax
Careers support from the ATT doesn’t end once employees are qualified and working in tax. To help with continuing professional development (CPD) and allow tax professionals to provide better support to their clients and wider networks, we offer a range of services members can benefit from.
Mentoring
For employers, promoting wellbeing in the workplace is more crucial than ever, especially in high-demand sectors like tax. Wellbeing encompasses feeling valued, having a sense of purpose, and creating strong connections within the workplace.
Mentoring plays an essential role in fostering this sense of fulfilment and can benefit mentors, mentees and the wider organisation. The ATT’s Mentor Match platform is free for all members and students to use. It connects members and students with mentors and mentees, fostering relationships that contribute to both individual and organisational success.
Whether your staff are looking for guidance in their career or eager to give back by helping others, participating in a mentoring programme is a rewarding experience that enhances both personal wellbeing and professional success.
Branches
The Branch Network community is made up of volunteers from both the ATT and the CIOT.
Local branches bring together members from all areas of the UK and overseas, with events tailored to local members and students, including technical courses, soft skills training or social events.
Branch events are an opportunity for training and development but are also a great way to meet other tax professionals working in your area. As the saying goes, it’s not (just) what you know, it’s who you know.
Webinars and events
To support members’ development and professional growth, the ATT puts on webinars and in-person events. Some of these are free and some are at a reduced cost for members and students.
This summer, we’ll be running our Annual Conferences both online and in London.
Keep an eye on our Events page for more information about our webinars and conferences and how to sign up. You can also access a limited number of our CPD webinars as recordings free of charge.
