ATT Budget Representation - Mileage Allowances

The ATT has submitted a Spring Budget 2024 representation on mileage allowances.

In this submission we have repeated our calls for the Government to increase the amount that drivers can be paid tax-free for using their own car for work. The current rates have been unchanged for nearly 13 years, during which time the cost of running a car has increased substantially.

Our recommendation is that all mileage rates (including those for cars, motorbikes and bicycles) should be increased to better reflect the current costs of running and maintaining a personal vehicle. These rates should also then be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
