HMRC email self-employed Tax Credit claimants
HMRC have emailed self-employed individuals who also claim Working Tax Credit.
Recipients of the email are asked to check their Tax Credit claim and Self-Assessment account, and to update any claim details which may be incorrect and file any Self-Assessment tax returns required. The email also explains the process of switching to Universal Credit, which began in October 2023.
We are sharing the email text, with permission from HMRC, to reassure recipients that these emails are genuine.
