HMRC Helpsheets for the Trust Registration Service

In order to help trustees with their Trust Registration Service (TRS) obligations, HMRC has produced the following help sheets.
- How to obtain a proof of registration on the TRS
- How to close a trust
- How to update a trust from non-taxpaying to taxpaying
The help sheets will be provided by email, on request, to individuals who call the HMRC Trust helpline (0300 123 1072) for support with any of the three tasks. HMRC have kindly provided us copies to share with ATT members.
The steps outlined in these helpsheets were correct as at 9 May 2024. Please be aware that the help sheets may be updated from time to time as and when HMRC processes change.
